Wildfire by Ilona Andrews

By Ilona Andrews

Book Blurb:
Nevada Baylor can’t decide which is more frustrating—harnessing her truthseeker abilities or dealing with Connor “Mad” Rogan and their evolving relationship. Yes, the billionaire Prime is helping her navigate the complex magical world in which she’s become a crucial player—and sometimes a pawn—but she also has to deal with his ex-fiancée, whose husband has disappeared, and whose damsel-in-distress act is wearing very, very thin.
Rogan faces his own challenges, too, as Nevada’s magical rank has made her a desirable match for other Primes. Controlling his immense powers is child’s play next to controlling his conflicting emotions. And now he and Nevada are confronted by a new threat within her own family. Can they face this together? Or is their world about to go up in smoke?

This is (sorta) the last installment of the Nevada Baylor trilogy in the Hidden Legacy series by Ilona Andrews. And I gobbled up every second on this series. The characters were everything. The main characters and the extended family had me cracking up at every second. This was a truly well written series. The world development had me intrigued and seemed believable. Unlike some reads, there weren’t those convenientplot twist that make everything all better and everyone happy. The storyline flowed well and I was captivated, to say the least.

Connor “Mad Rogan” might be my new psychotic book boyfriend. Shhh…. They might want to institutionalize me (no Harley Quinn here Lol!). He is all sorts of wrong in the head, but he has the right heart (in most of what he does). There were a couple spots in the book that had him winning me over and I was happier for it. He had me

Nevada Baylor had me jealous of her! She was an awesome heroine. She was nowhere near annoying. She was truly smart, and extremely talented. I wanna be her when I grow up! Might I add, she has the heart of Mad Rogan in her palms. Yep, I definitely want to be her when I grow up.
As a quick side: Grandma Frida might be cooler than both my grandmothers combined. She stole the show so many times in this book!

Anyway, back to the story. I loved the investigation. Nothing seemed forced. The book flowed well. We caught up with characters throughout the other books, and we continued to learn so much more about the world and each character. I really wished there was going to be more to this couple in the series. If only for the investigations. The family made a great detective agency and their dynamic was on point.

Since writing this review initially, (I wrote this review a while ago and just forgot to post it – Oops!) Ilona and Andrew released a novella Diamond Fire an introduction to Catalina’s story. Let’s just say I’m dying for the completed story - Sapphire Flames. I’m ready!
